Farrer Fun Fact
1 year for the history books - This month, Farrer Wealth completes 1 year of operations. It’s been a phenomenal year of growth, learning, and investing. Along with our core business, we wrote these biweekly newsletters so others could learn about us and more importantly, learn with us. It can be quite nerve-racking to so openly publish one’s thoughts, research, success, and failures. However, in return we’ve received nothing but good wishes, constructive feedback, and genuine enjoyment of our work. So to all of you, for every open, every click, every read, every share, thank you. This newsletter has been a labor of love but you’ve all made it worth it and it means the world to us. Thank you for coming along on our journey as we strive for investment excellence. We wish you all a happy new year, and all the best in 2021.
Articles and Videos of the Week
Fortune and BCG team up to create a list of the Future 50, or the 50 companies they think have the best chance of long-term success. Last year’s list outperformed the S&P 500 by 50%. Click here to check it out. We’re glad to see our holdings of Adyen and Spotify in the top 10.
The Pomp Letter published this thought proving piece on the concept of a time billionaire versus a dollar billionaire. It got us thinking about what our most valuable asset is (time) and how best to use it. Some great food for thought as you wind down for the year and start planning for the next.
The Good Investing channel uploaded their interview with Bonsai Partners’ Andrew Rosenblum. Andrew is a unique thinker and talks about how rule breakers make great investors, his reasons for not shorting, and his struggles with judging management. It’s well worth a listen!
1 year of operations also means 1 year of blog posts. Here are some of the fan-favorites from this year as well some of our personal favorites. Business Class Culture (how we think about company culture), 32-year-old Intern (our experience working with Hayden Capital), The Anatomy of Fear (our warning about giving into fear in March).
